ATTENTION  PARENTS/GUARDIANS
: TAX BREAK POSSIBILITY
We urge all parents/guardians to check out NYS Form IT-213 (Empire State Child Credit) when you are filing your 2006 NYS Income Tax returns.  The form is new this year.  This tax credit was first proposed as an education tax credit.  You could be eligible for up to a $330 tax break per child for every child ages four to sixteen.

Sports Update
Our 2006-2007 basketball teams have really demonstrated the meaning of professionalism and sportsmanship in the first half of this season. Our boys’ varsity team coached by Mr. Carver is currently 1 - 5. Mr. Sloan’s varsity team is 5 - 1. We are so proud of the professional attitude the players exhibit on and off the court.
The JV team, coached by Mr. Russell and assisted by Mr. Madigan, has also worked extremely hard this year. This team shows great enthusiasm and perseverance.  We are excited about continuing this determined “team first” attitude during the rest of this year.
As always, we want to thank all of our coaches and all the parents of all the teams for their support.

Winter Reminders
Students need to come to school dressed for winter.  Students go outside each day for recess unless it’s raining or the wind chill is below 22 degrees F. The cold, fresh air actually refreshes the children and kills many germs. However, students need to wear boots, mittens or gloves, and have a hat or hood for their heads. If boots are something your child refuses to wear, then send an old pair of sneakers and extra pair of socks to school. Students need to keep their feet dry. Girls who wear skirts should have a pair of slacks or jeans to cover their legs. Younger children should also bring an extra pair of slacks or jeans to put on over their school pants.

Trip to Boston
Arrangements are being finalized for the 8th and 9th grade trip to Boston on Friday, May 25th, through Sunday, May 28th. The trip will be a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn as well as a time to have fun.
Some of the stops on our itinerary include:  Quincy Market, the Boston Aquarium, the USS Constitution, Old North Church and Paul Revere’s House, Plimoth Plantation, Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower, and the Boston Museum of Science.
The second deposit of  $50.00 per traveler must be paid by January 29th.  This is necessary to hold the hotel and bus. The final cost of the trip depends on the total number of travelers. Please make checks payable to Hope Hall. Please call Sandy Tronolone at 426-0210 with any questions.
