Halloween Dance Huge Success
Hope Hall hosted our first dance of the 2006-2007 school year on Friday, October 27th. Students in grades 6 – 9 donned a variety of costumes and spent a few hours dancing and just having fun. Many of our alumni attended the dance and had a great time seeing old friends and teachers as well as enjoying the music. It was wonderful to have them back, and our younger students were glad to see them. Many thanks go to Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Roach for all their planning and organization of the dance. All proceeds from this event will help to finance our eighth and ninth grade trip next spring.
Some Simple Help Needed
PLEASE continue saving Campbell Soup labels, and box tops from General Mills cereals (the ones that say Box Tops for Education). All of these can bring in much needed funds for the school. Perhaps you could put a box or envelope up at work and ask co-workers to save them for us too! Thank you for your continued support.
Student Photography
Last spring, students in grades 6 and 7 had the opportunity to integrate Language Arts with photography, thanks to a program sponsored by Eastman Kodak Company.
Kodak donated one new digital camera to the school, and loaned us 10 digital cameras to be used by the students who then used their creativity to view the world around our school with a different eye. They wrote wonderful poems and stories about their pictures.
Eastman Kodak Co. has printed these pictures and made a wonderful display. This display will be at Medley Center (formerly Irondequoit Mall) from November 6 to December 4. If you’re there shopping, be sure to look for the display. The photography is magnificent.
We offer a special thank you to Grace Tillinghast, Manager of Community Affairs for Eastman Kodak Company, for including Hope Hall in this special project.
